Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) syllabus in India will be structured and designed by the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Govt. of India. DGCA is the Indian regulatory body under the ministry of civil aviation. These profile engineers are highly trained by the experts as they have to deal with the safety and security of aircraft and their passengers. The AME subjects are taught to the candidate for offering academic and practical knowledge so they can execute the duties of maintenance, repair, test, rectify, upgrade, operating, and troubleshoot the issues of the aircraft.
After qualifying for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering syllabus and practical training, the student can apply for the international-license program. These license holder engineers are eligible to work in the private and government aviation sectors worldwide. 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or 3 years engineering diploma in mechanical engineering/Electrical Engineering/ Aeronautical Engineering students looking to pursue Aircraft Maintenance Engineering should apply for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Examination (AME CEE) to get admission in one of the prominent institutes in India and get up to 100% scholarship. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering institutes are approved by the DGCA, Govt. of India and license is also issued by them. The AME can build their fab career in the top organizations of the following sectors such as airlines, MRO organizations, Aircraft Manufacturing Companies, Aircraft Part Manufacturing Companies, Aviation Training Centres, Flying clubs, Civil Defence Forces, etc. The average salary packages are very attractive for the skilled AME.
The few licenses of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering on which the AME syllabus is dependent:
B1: Certify the mechanical parts of the aircraft which is further subcategorized as:
· B1.1: Aeroplane with the jet engine
· B1.2: Aeroplane with piston engine
· B1.3: Helicopter with the jet engine
· B1.4: Helicopter with piston engine
B2: Avionics branch that deals with the electrical, instrumental, navigation, and radar systems of aircraft.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
Subjects
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering subjects educates about the functioning of the aircraft and its various tiny and complex components. There are a total of 17 modules but exactly which subjects are being taught is based on the license selection of the candidate at the time of admission. The student applying in India for the AME course doesn’t have to appear for the modules 1 and 2 as they have already studied physics and mathematics in their 12th standard.
